The Moving of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit that dwells within us is also relentlessly pursuing us; He continually moves and
desires to do mighty works in our lives. When the Holy Spirit moves, it can be in a powerful and
new way that is unexpected. (Acts 2: 1 – 13). At Pentecost there was a sound of a violent rushing
wind from heaven, people spoke in different tongues. The dramatic arrival of the Holy Spirit
elicited two different responses amongst the crowd: one of awe and amazement and the other was
of ridicule and mockery.

Roy shares his own personal story of being filled with the Holy Spirit in his youth. It was a
tremendously profound experience and to this day Roy had never felt this type of joy before. He
cried, he laughed, and he spoke a different language as he let the Spirit move him. Similar to Acts,
some of the people around him reacted by thinking it was demonic and ridiculous. In another
testimony, Mike shared how the Holy Spirit delivered him from addiction to drugs and alcohol
supernaturally one day. However, he was still addicted to his old way of thinking. He began to
change as he devoted himself to reading the Bible fervently.

If we want the Holy Spirit to move in us, we must trust Him. We have to trust Him to do things His
way, which may be uncomfortable and unexpected. Jesus will often take us out of our comfort
zone so that we can move forward with what He has for us. When we allow the Holy Spirit to move,
our relationship with Him grows, and we are able to experience all that God has in store for us.
