Overview
Pastor Chris began talking about different types of love. He mentioned different examples of agape, philio, and eros.
1 John 3:16, NIV: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”
1 John 4:8 and 16 NIV
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Live in a way that provokes your enemy to ask questions of why you live differently. We must show Christ love and be ambassadors for the kingdom of God.
Chris concluded his message with reflection:
He focused on- Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, Patience
