Things like love, and the law, The law of the Jungle. – John Mark McMillan These are some of the lyrics to the song, and album, that inspired Christopher and his team to name the youth group as well the youth room the BorderLand. BorderLand has many meanings, but one sticks out in explaining why it is a fitting name. A borderland is a place between places. Is that not fitting to describe the teenage years? Teenagers are humans caught somewhere between adults and kids. For that reason it is clear that they deserve and need a place to suit their individual and corporate needs. BorderLand a place

BorderLand is a program that serves students from 8th to 12th grade. Currently we meet from 7 to 9 on Wednesday nights in the BorderLand (Lower level below worship center). On a normal programming night you will find five elements: food, games, worship, teaching and small groups.

BorderLand a place to BeLong

We exist to help fill the need of belonging that is often so hard to find in our communities. This isn’t, as Brene Brown suggests, by forcing kids into a mold or making them conform. Rather, we hope to build an atmosphere that is so fun, welcoming and loving that all those that walk through our doors feel as though they belong and yet keep their own individual characteristics.

We are convinced the best thing that could ever happen to someone is encountering Jesus. It is our hope that by being around us and in our programs students will begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

We are all in process. The ultimate goal of believing in Jesus and being transformed into His likeness is so that we can share in his life. It is our hope that students will fall in love with Jesus and become fully alive!
